You can experience the daily work and private life of the lord of the Maeda family, the Kanazawa Samurai, and study how these have influenced the culture of Kanazawa, through tea ceremony, and tours of Kanazawa Castle and Kenrokuen Garden.

Tea Ceremony

You will visit the Kenrokutei which is a historic place where the lord once entertained important guests. In this wonderful setting, you can experience Kanazawa’s tea ceremony culture and Japanese traditions

The standing tea ceremony is designed to be enjoyable even for those who have difficulty in sitting on the floor. The tea experience includes a demonstration of how to make tea by the master, followed by an opportunity to make the tea yourself. There will also be an explanation of the basics of the tea ceremony and how to use tea utensils, so even those new to the tea ceremony can participate without worry. A commemorative photograph will be taken at the end of the session, so that participants can enjoy a special moment in the spirit of a once-in-a-lifetime encounter. We hope that this experience will give you a deeper appreciation of the charm of the tea ceremony
